And the winner of the Yards Tap Handle THROWDOWN is... "Willadelphia" by John Combs!
"This is an attempt to create mixes of old and new. The old: With this design, I envisioned Yards Brewery's existence back in William Penn's heyday. The setting is Mr. Penn in front of city hall with a beer in hand, standing beside a keg of Yards. The new: Adding to the historical background the tap portrays, I also wanted to give it a somewhat raw look. Stacked, unpolished metal and wood was used to pay homage to Philadelphia's image as a tough, blue collar city."
Two great local institutions are coming together to provide you — the creative, hard-working, and thirsty of Philadelphia — a unique opportunity to showcase your talents and vie for spectacular prizes!
Where is the best place to work on your prototype? Right here at NextFab! We have the tools you will need to make the most awesomely fierce tap handle around.
* Must be 21 or older to redeem one or both of the above prizes.
Participants in the Contest will enjoy several beer-focused events during the summer and fall, culminating in October in a grand Gala with public display of Contestants’ tap handles, public voting on the tap handles, and naming of the winning Contestant. The Winner will also receive an honor of seeing reproductions of their Winning Tap Handle, made by NextFab, on display and in use at popular bars across the city.
