NextFab's paint booth will come online on April 5!!!

Just a quick update that our paint booth will come online on April 5. Feel free to check it out and a big big thanks to our staff — Steve Webb, Adam Waraksa and Brandon Boulden for cleaning up floors and cabinets!

Cafe L'Aube Now Roasting!

After many trials and tribulations, the Probatino roaster is up and running, and Jean-Luc roasted his first batch of coffee at L'Aube Cantine today.  Freshly roasted Pico-Batch beans are now available for purchase. Coffee lovers of NextFab rejoice!

Due to an event the 2nd Floor communal seating area will be unavailable to members March 13th from 3pm - 5pm. This will include the textile area.

The following areas will still be available for use: Laser / 3D printing Suite, 2D printing, Electronics, Wood Shop, Metal Shop, Classroom

Show & Tell

Show & Tell was a great success last night, with topics ranging from soft sculpture to Arduino embedded data logging on a motorcycle - thanks to the presenters, and to a great audience!
 
if you'd like to focus on a particular topic for next time, such as: 
 
  • Art projects, artistic techniques, and the business of art
  • Commercial product design and product-based business startup
  • Machining, welding, and metal fabrication projects and techniques
  • Embedded control electronics and firmware projects

Extended Hours Begin Tomorrow

NextFab is excited to announce that we will be starting extended member hours tomorrow, Wednesday February 6th. We will be open Monday-Thursday 10am-10pm and Friday-Sunday from 10am-6pm.

Dear Members,
 
We know you are as excited as we are to come in and use our new space! Good news: starting this Saturday, December 29th, all current members are welcome to the second floor amenities which include: 
 
  • computer workstations loaded with the Adobe creative suite, Rhino, and Solidworks software packages
  • workspace for design and project planning
  • wireless internet access 
  • kitchenette for coffee and tea fixing
  • lounge area with cable TV and BluRay DVD player
  • Trotec laser cutting and 3D printing
  • Epson large format photo and archival printing
  • electronics workstations
  • Meteor pinball machine!

On Saturday, January 5th, we will start accepting and training new members. NextFab will be closed December 31st and January 1st for New Year’s. Until late hours begin, NextFab Studio's hours of operation will be 10am-6pm, 7 days per week. Reorientation for current members and Orientation for new members will be available for signup on our class reservation calendar HERE.
