SUMMARY:Pricing & Selling your Handmade Work
DESCRIPTION:From Making to Selling: A NextFab Made Online Series for the Makers and Artisans of Philadelphia. \nWith something as personal and unique as art\, many artisan entrepreneurs struggle to develop a pricing model that generates consistent sales\, reflects the time and effort invested\, and turns a healthy profit. On Thursday\, May 21st at 1pm EST\, Genevieve Coutroubis\, Executive Artistic Director of the Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA) and Sharif Pendleton\, successful owner-maker of PLAID: Philadelphia Laser & Industrial Design and NextFab member join us to talk about how to create a pricing model that works for you. \nIn this webinar\, Genevieve and Sharif will provide their insights on: \n\nCashflow and unit economics and how it applies to their practices and brand\nDeveloping a pricing and production model for solo to mass production\nKey factors you should consider – and how to keep your emotions out of your pricing equation.\n\nBy the end of this webinar\, you should: \n\nUnderstand the different types of pricing models and structures recommended\nBe able to identify all costs that go into a product or service\nUnderstand how you can scale your product from solo items to mass production processes\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\nAbout Genevieve Coutroubis\, Executive Artistic Director of CFEVA\nGenevieve Coutroubis joined The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA) staff in 2001 as the Director of Programming. She heads CFEVA’s Visual Artist Fellowship\, and has mounted numerous exhibitions throughout the region. She also established CFEVA’s Regional Community Arts Program (RCAP)—a vehicle to bring substantial career development opportunities to Philadelphia’s visual artists. In May 2018 Genevieve accepted the role of Executive Artistic Director and currently co-directs the organization. In addition\, Genevieve is a documentary photographer and ethnographer. She has exhibited extensively\, and her work appears in numerous national and international collections including SEI’s West Collection. \nAbout Sharif Pendleton of PLAID\nSharif is a designer of many things. He has made a career of developing interactive learning for corporations\, but he’s best known for laser-cutting beautiful\, functional products that are love letters to pop culture. He loves to take a thought\, conversation or long established truth and re-imagine it on or as a product. Within a year of joining NextFab as on of its first members\, in 2009 Sharif established Masters of None\, a business that specialized in making urbane often tongue-in-cheek products that are useful and make people smile. In 2017 he re-imagined and relaunched Masters of None as Philadelphia Laser & Industrial Design (aka PLAID). After relaunching\, Sharif opened a storefront at Cherry Street Pier. In 2019\, he took over Phillylovenotes\, another long-established brand started at NextFab. Through his storefront and web-shop\, Sharif sells his work\, a curated collection of products from other designers and custom design services. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo download Zoom please click HERE.
