NextFab Studio will be hosting an open house in celebration of National Manufacturing Day. There will be tours every 30 minutes from 10am to 5pm which will also include technology/machine demonstrations throughout the day.
At 11.30am NextFab will be hosting Councilman Bobby Henon of Philadelphia's 6th district and a group of local high school robotics students. The group will explore the applications of advanced design and prototyping techniques.
NextFab, DuPont™, & CH Briggs Company have come together to host an exciting hands-on demonstration workshop. This demonstration will provide a unique opportunity to explore the versatile potential of Corian® for both horizontal and vertical applications. Join us in creating with DuPont™ Corian®!

Join us for our very first industrial design course at NextFab Studio with renowned industrial designer, Peter Bressler!
This 6-part course is an introduction to industrial design that will take you through the entire design process, including: research, feature analysis, need identification, ideation, concept sketching, modeling, prototyping, critique, and refinement.
Participants will design a new coat hook using an iterative process, while considering the goals of functionality, usability, aesthetics, ease of installation and manufacture.
October 22nd : Introduction to industrial design, coat hanger project, ideation
October 29th : Product research, feature analysis, design criteria, concept sketching
November 5th : Concept presentation, rough manual modeling, 2D and 3D design
November 12th: Analysis, critique, correction and refinement
November 19th : Presentation skills, prototype production and finishing
November 26th : Final presentation and critique
Peter Bressler is an Industrial Designer with over 40 years of experience in functional innovation, creating communication through aesthetics, and application of human factors and materials and manufacturing processes. From 1970 through 2012 he founded and led Bresslergroup, a product research, design and development firm in Philadelphia. The firm's projects have received over 50 Awards for design and engineering and Peter himself has either authored or coauthored over 75 utility and design patents.
His participation as an officer at the national level in the Industrial Designers Society of America has resulted in election to the Academy of Fellows and receipt of a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Peter participated in the creation of and since 2006 has been an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Integrated Product Design Program at the University of Pennsylvania..
