NextFab is seeking an engaging, talented, and enthusiastic electronics wizard for our Technical Supervisor position. NextFab is a collaborative makerspace for creators of any skill level or interest. The Technical Supervisor is primarily responsible for supporting NextFab members of all skill levels, maintaining the safety of the shop and equipment and teaching classes. Electronics skills developed through personal pursuits, education, or professional experience, are required. The technical supervisor will also work with the contract services department to develop electronic components for prototypes for hardware products using techniques including breadboarding to schematic capture, board layout, microcontroller coding, manual and automated pick and place assembly.

This position is hourly and reports to the Electronics Manager. Evening and weekend hours are required. Full time employees are eligible for our benefits package, including PTO, health, vision and dental plans and professional development allowance.
- Proven understanding in electronics prototyping / development
- Microcontroller applications (board and firmware) experience
- Electronics CAD experience (schematic, layout, routing)
- Soldering skills
- Familiarity with electronics equipment and maintenance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience or interest in an instructional role, including developing and teaching courses
- Operation of automated Pick and Place machinery a plus
