Part-Time Front Desk Coordinator

NextFab is seeking an engaging and enthusiastic team member. NextFab is a collaborative makerspace and business accelerator. We provide access to machinery, education, membership, community, events, rental space, and professional services to enable innovators to turn ideas into products, and products into businesses. We are looking for candidates for the position who feel passionate about supporting the mission and work of our organization and our customers.

The Front Desk Coordinator will greet, assist, and provide direction and information to members and guests of NextFab and NextFab’s resident companies.

This is a part-time position: 15 hours per week. The person in this position will work Tuesdays (8:30 am – 4 pm) and Thursdays (8:30 am – 5 pm). Hours are subject to change. This is a temporary position, running for 6 months.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 2 years of clerical and/ or customer service experience required

Schedule:

  • This is a part-time position: 15 hours per week. The person in this position will work Tuesday mornings (8:30 am – 4 pm) and Thursdays (8:30 am – 5 pm). Hours are subject to change. 
  • Work is to be performed on-site at our South Philadelphia location
  • This is a temporary position, running for 6 months. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Compensation / Benefits: 

  • Salary Range: 
  • $15-17/hr, based on experience. 
  • Limited personal use of company facilities
  • Professional Development Allowance
    • $800 toward professional training, certification, or conferences
    • The allowance does not roll over

Requirements:

  • Maintains knowledge regarding Member Services Policies & Procedures
  • Educates the public about NextFab’s mission
  • Serves as primary customer service contact; responds to and resolves inquiries and questions received verbally, by phone and by email
  • Answers and directs phone calls to staff; takes messages and transfers calls
  • Greets and directs staff, visitors, members, and clients
  • Processes new memberships; explains and sells services
  • Maintains knowledge of Front Desk operations, software and systems
  • Processes POS payment for goods and services
  • Performs front desk opening / closing checklists
  • Receives mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and delivers or distributes items for staff and resident companies
  • Supports documentation and improvement of business processes
  • Processes member reservations and approvals
  • Engages with members and reports feedback and concerns appropriately, acting as a conduit between members and staff where necessary
  • General administrative tasks as needed
  • Other duties as ability and need dictate
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
