Janitorial & Maintenance Team Member

Overview:
The person in this position will be responsible for cleaning and will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities.
Schedule:
Full-time (approximately 40 hours/week)
Janitorial Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Clean and sanitize each of the three (3) commercial buildings.
  • Maintains the inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste to reduce and eliminate.
  • Uses a cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies.
  • Cleans and disinfects bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Wipes and dust surfaces in rooms.
  • Cleans floors (in common areas).
  • Stocks bathrooms.
  • Empties trash containers, and waste disposal in shop areas and in common areas.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Maintenance Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Technical maintenance & machine repair.
  • Maintain safe functionality of equipment and tools at all NextFab locations to meet health and safety standards.
  • Inspects and identifies equipment, machines, and systems in need of repair to identify problems or issues.
  • Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs. Identify the best solution to resolve systems or equipment issues.
  • Plans repair work using building blueprints, building plans, or equipment manuals as needed.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance to ensure that equipment, machines, and systems continue operating properly.
  • Performs routine maintenance on equipment, machines, and systems. Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include general carpentry, general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair, repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
  • Repair of inoperable machines: return to working condition within 48-72 hours based on part replacement delivery time frame.
  • Uses and updates maintenance ticketing system.
  • Keeps maintenance logs and reports on daily activities
  • Renovations to the facilities of all NextFab locations, ensuring that each location and shop meets health, safety, and legal standards and regulations. Preserve the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well functioning.
  • Inspect facilities to determine the need for repairs or renovations
  • Develop and maintain a high level of competence with facilities and maintenance. Stay well-versed in all facilities and maintenance processes and health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with relocation and transport of facility, property, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Travel:
Willingness and ability to travel to each of the 3 locations on a regular basis are required:
(North Philly): 1800 N. American Street, Philadelphia, PA

(Wilmington, DE): 503 N. Tatnall Street, Wilmington DE
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Trade school/vocational-technical school preferred.
  • 3+ years of related experience required.
  • OSHA certification is a plus.
  • Forklift operation experience is a plus.
  • On-the-job training offered.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously.

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Knowledge of general carpentry, general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair preferred.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and repair manuals.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
