About the Course

Learn to safely operate the Trotec 300 and Trotec 500 laser engravers. Discuss material choice, file prep, laser focusing, air filtration, and clean up. Practice preparing files for the lasers, and use a NextFab provided file to demo cutting.

• Learn More about Adobe Illustrator in Adobe Illustrator I or Illustrator for Laser Cutting and Engraving classes. The more Illustrator we know, the better files we can create.
• Start Using the Laser: NextFab has a folder of some cool projects files you can use off of our resource drive. You can get to that folder from any NextFab computer (R:\Lasers\Demo_Parts)
• Websites like Thingiverse and Instructables will give you plans and instructions for a lot of fun projects, from small to large. 
• Websites like Pinterest are great for inspiration. Most times they won’t give you the plans, but that gives you the chance to replicate something, make it your own, and test your CAD skills.
