American Philosophical Society Annual Garden Party

September 24, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Curious about the Mastodon on 5th street in Old City? Satisfy that curiosity (and more) by coming to the APS Museum’s Annual Garden Party! The Garden Party is a free program from 12pm – 4pm in our Jefferson Garden, located at 105 S. 5th Street.

Enjoy a menagerie of activities as we bring the spirit of Charles Willson Peale back to the APS. Hands-on activities for the whole family brought to you by: the Academy of Natural Sciences, Historic Philadelphia, Inc., Independence National Historical Park, and NextFab.

We’ll also be celebrating the end of summer with ice cream from Franklin Fountain. The first 20 guests to arrive will receive one free ice cream! But don’t worry; Franklin Fountain will be in the garden throughout the event, selling ice cream for $5.

This free afternoon event is appropriate for children and guests of all ages. The exhibition Curious Revolutionaries: The Peales of Philadelphia, located across the street in Philosophical Hall, will also be open during the program.
