Join us at NextFab for an intimate gallery talk with our 2026 Winter Residency Fellow, Lin Elkins.
The Winter Residency is a collaboration between NextFab and the Museum for Art in Wood, designed specifically for Greater Philadelphia artists working in wood. Over the past two months, Lin has utilized NextFab’s resources and community to push the boundaries of her craft.
This evening’s talk offers a firsthand look at the work created during her residency and an exploration of the inspiration behind her practice.
Lin Elkins is a Philadelphia-based artist, furniture maker, and craftswoman. She holds a BS in Furniture Design from Appalachian State University and has served as a Fellow at UNC Asheville and the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship. Lin has also contributed her expertise to renowned institutions such as the Penland School of Craft and the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts.
Lin’s work explores the dichotomy between the natural and built environments. Through purposeful functionality and playfulness, she creates pieces that invite moments of comfort, wonder, and curiosity, bridging the spiritual and physical connection to the world around us.
