Saturday, March 25, 2023: Workshops and Networking Happy Hour
Workshops 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM – In-Person: How to Approach Galleries, Whole Sellers, and Store Owners Workshop This workshop will help you position your product and/or brand to be attractive to new customer segments: gallery owners, store owners, or wholesalers. In this hands-on workshop, practice how to develop an elevator pitch and understand your specific ask. By the end of this workshop, you will have a personal outline for your sales pitch and action plan, so you feel confident in approaching local businesses, galleries, and wholesales.
2:30 PM 4:00 PM – In-Person: Product Photography Workshop In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the basics of how to take beautiful photography shots of your products. Staging different setups to enhance your products, our expert instructor Tatiana Mullin will demonstrate effective lighting, visual storytelling elements, and backdrops. She’ll review the types of shots needed for your website, Instagram, and print. After discussing the basics, participants are invited to stage their own products on one of the pre-staged setups and practice taking their own shots.
2:30 PM – 4:00 PM – In-Person: Craft Fair & Market Display Workshop This hands-on workshop invites participants to bring a display setup, including products, stands, and collateral to practice effective setups in a learning environment. Each participant will be given a 5 x 10 table (or bring in their own) to stage their craft fair and market setups. They will be expected to give a brief brand statement to the group and will receive live critique to better improve the quality of their displays. At the end of the workshop, participants will walk away with tangible feedback on display setup improvements, strategies for pricing and products, and how to maximize customer interactions at in-person tabling events. All participants will have the option to keep their display up during the networking happy hour to practice their newly learned skills!
