About the Course

The Roland MDX 540 is a versatile 3-axis CNC milling machine capable of fine detail and precision work.

After completing VCarve I and VCarve II, and this course, gain access to our Roland CNC machine. You’ll learn the machine controls, Vectric VCarve PRO software, discuss the setup checklist, program the Automatic Tool Changer(ATC), and then make a custom project.

1. Members are encouraged to start learning and utilizing Rhinoceros or Solidworks to do 3D carving.
2. Two-sided (Flip) milling
3. Installation, Job Setup, and Operation for the Rotary Attachment
4. Advanced hold-downs techniques
   – Installation and tramming of vice for smaller items
   – Using jigs for multiple pieces
   – Setting up for micro precision milling, tips, and tricks
