With top-of-the-line 3D printing technology, our 3D Printing department offers a crash course in understanding and using 3D printers and modeling. From lecture classes to hands-on work, our intro and intermediate classes teach the basics of 3D printing and modeling. Once you gain an understanding, use the 3D printing equipment to create anything from small toys to useful everyday devices – the only limit is your imagination.

Our 3D Printing department gives makers, designers, and beginners everything they need to create professional-quality prints right here in Philadelphia. Whether you’re looking for 3D printing services, hands-on help, or 3D printing classes, our makerspace provides expert guidance, reliable equipment, and high-quality materials to support every stage of your project.
Our on-site staff are highly knowledgeable about FDM and 3D printing, Rhino software, troubleshooting rough or jagged edges, removing supports, and post-processing techniques like sanding and smoothing. Their job is to help you get clean, accurate prints. We maintain our machines carefully to ensure smooth operation and consistent results.
Between our classes, community, tools, and experts, NextFab offers everything you need for 3D printing in Philadelphia, including training for beginners and advanced makers alike.
The centerpiece of our department is our Bambu 3D printers, capable of producing durable prototypes, artistic models, engineering parts, and functional home and kitchen objects. Members can create detailed prints at a fraction of the cost of typical 3D printing services or printer rentals.
However, the printer is not all we have to offer. As a member, you’ll have access to all our 3D printing machines and tools, including:
Members gain access to all 3D printing equipment after completing the necessary prerequisite classes or demonstrating proficiency. We also offer a variety of materials, all included in your membership, such as PLA, HIPS, ABS, and specialty filaments.
We offer a full range of learning opportunities for adults and beginners. Our curriculum is designed to help you build practical skills you can use immediately on our equipment.
Our 3D Printing I class teaches you how to operate our consumer-grade Bambu printers. You’ll select a project from our curated library, learn how to prepare and slice files, set up the machine for clean and accurate prints, and troubleshoot common issues like rough edges or difficult support removal. Upon completion, you’ll gain access to Bambu printers at NextFab.
For members ready to take their digital fabrication skills further, we also offer Rhinoceros I. This class shows you how to build simple 3D geometries and develop them into more complex models, which is perfect for preparing custom designs for 3D printing, CNC machining, and laser cutting. It’s an excellent foundation for anyone looking to bring their own ideas into the physical world.
Whether you’re learning the basics or advancing your design skills, our hands-on classes provide clear instruction, expert support, and the confidence you need to work independently on our 3D printing equipment.
