The Electronics department has everything you need to begin programming. We offer intro and intermediate courses in soldering, circuits, and coding concepts. Creating professional electronics projects requires specialized resources, which we provide in our makerspace. If you need access to equipment for building prototypes, robotics, or electronic components, join NextFab.
NextFab offers classes, private training, and a creative community that shares ideas. Our experts are on hand to guide you and assist with problem solving, as well. Join as a member today to gain access to our North Philadelphia makerspace and community.
From basic electronics classes to soldering classes, NextFab is the best place to learn electronics. Electronics Lab Orientation will introduce you to the world of programming. Our intermediate classes help you master skills in robotics, soldering, and more.
Our electronics department offers multiple in-depth courses, including:
Jim Cara of Cara Guitars utilizes multiple shops at NextFab. He has a personal setup in our electronics department. There he configures the electronic components of his intricate guitars and basses.
Jim uses tools such as our Solder Rework Stations, which include a soldering iron, smoke absorber, and hot air gun. These stations are well-suited for the soldering and removal of individual components. Many of his instruments feature electronic components like lights, sounds, and movements.
Access to cross-functional shops allows Jim to make the wooden components of his guitars before adding electronic components. Jim finishes his guitars and basses by painting them in our large spray booth.
Our makerspace offers many collaborative, cross-departmental creative opportunities. Members in our electronics department make access control devices, lighting, prototypes, and robotics. Our tools and expert guidance help makers bring their ideas to life.
In this department, you’ll find makers working on components for instruments, building prototypes, and creating furniture and signage. We also have the equipment and tools you’ll need to make advanced electronics, like robotics. Our makerspace provides everything to create, from experts to materials to storage.
Flash PCB is a team of electrical engineers with founder Thomas Castner, who runs their business. The team rents out office space at NextFab to easily switch between their electrical designs and admin work.
Flash PCB quickly and efficiently creates their PCB boards using, most notably, our CNC Pick and Place Machine. This machine automatically populates a PCB with surface-mounted components. They utilize the soldering stations to finish the boards as well.
One of the greatest benefits of NextFab membership is access to our machines and equipment. As a professional makerspace, we offer use of electronics machines you may not be able to find elsewhere. We offer the highest quality electronics equipment available so that nothing holds you back.
Having access to our professional-quality equipment will take each of your projects to the next level. Our professional-grade meters, scopes, and soldering tools ensure precise measurements.
Our CNC Pick and Place Machine automatically populates PCBS with components. We also offer convenient power supplies that will make prototyping easier than ever. This is the dream workshop set-up for any serious electronics technician!
NextFab fosters a collaborative environment where electronics enthusiasts can learn from each other and find partners for their projects. We provide tools, materials, and equipment, and members bring their creativity and innovation. Growing your business, leveling up your craft, and taking digital electronics classes all happen here at NextFab.
We offer shared workshops and studios with state-of-the-art tools and equipment. In addition to the physical machines and tools, we offer a pathway to advance our members’ journeys. Our staff guides members and advances their skills through private training and electronics classes. With our membership model, we strive to provide our makers with all the tools, equipment, and resources they’ll need.
