About the NextFab x DVAA Residency 2022

This Residency is a collaboration between DaVinci Art Alliance and NextFab, the two leading organizations in Philadelphia that explore the intersection of art, science, and technology. One NextFab member will be awarded membership at DVAA and their own exhibition of the work they create during its duration at DaVinci Fest 2022. This residency is about strengthening relationships and promoting sustainability and community.

The NextFab x DVAA 2022 Residency culminates during the 2022 DaVinci Festival. The exhibit created by the resident artist will be on display at Da Vinci Art Alliance for the entirety of the festival and will be accompanied by community programs and events related to the work presented.

Criteria for NF x DVAA Residency Applications:

• Philadelphia Residents creating sustainable artwork on the intersection between art, science, sustainability, technology, innovation, and community.
• Resident must be available for select Da Vinci Fest events, willing to participate in programming and critique related to their project.
• We are looking for applicants not only creating artwork along with the stated themes but residents interested in creating engaging and educational activities for the community during the 2022 Da Vinci Festival.

Timeline:

June 24, 2021 @ 5:30pm – Virtual Info Session for potential NextFab Member applicants

July 1st, 2021 – Submissions Open

August 6, 2021 – Submissions Close

September 10, 2021 – Resident Artist Selected and Announces

Week of September 20, 2021 – Residency Planning Team meets with Resident

Oct 1, 2021 – April 4, 2022 Residency

March 30th – April 5th – Week of Install

April 6th – 26th 2022 – Exhibit Opens amid Da Vinci Fest 2022
