NextFab Connects You to The Internet of Things!

Sunday, August 28th, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, NextFab will present an Internet of Things workshop. What does this mean? READ ON!

If you are not familiar with the Internet of Things (or more simply “IoT”), it is where the internet moves from the virtual to the physical. There are more and more of these things all around us, from Fit Bit fitness trainer bracelets to Nest interactive thermostats to household plant monitors. All of these objects become integrated systems through the IoT.

This half-day workshop, lead by Jonathan Wexler and Matt Garfield, will focus on building a wifi-enabled Smart Light that reacts to internet data with color-changing LED lights.

You’ll also learn how to create a custom Web App to control your Smart Light from any web browser, even your smart phone!

This exciting workshop will take place Sunday, August 28th from 11am to 5pm and is open to both members and non-members.
