Red flower enamel necklace

Spring is the perfect season to try something new, and NextFab has a workshop that’s equal parts meditative craft and vibrant creative expression. The Spring Flowers Enameling Techniques workshop invites you to work with glass, color, and copper to create a one-of-a-kind flower pendant or window hanging. No experience required.

Join us for our June workshop on Thursday, June 4, 2026 | 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

This session is led by Philadelphia metalsmith and jewelry artist Lia Huntington, and is priced at $99 per person with all materials included.

What You’ll Make

Blue flower enamel pendant

Working with vitreous glass enamels on a copper flower form, you’ll build up layers of color, pattern, and texture to design a piece that’s entirely your own. The finished result can be worn as a pendant or displayed as a window hanging for a little burst of spring you actually made yourself.

What You’ll Learn

Hands working on metal jewelry

The workshop moves through the full enameling process from start to finish. You’ll begin by sifting enamel frit to lay down your base layers, then move into design work using simple cloisonné techniques and patterning with glass thread. You’ll explore both dry and wet enamel application before firing your piece in the kiln and finishing it by hand.

The session opens with a safety overview and a thorough walkthrough of each step, so even if you’ve never worked with enamels or metal before, you’ll feel oriented and ready to dig in.

About the Instructor

Who Should Come
