If you haven’t been in to NextFab or if you haven’t been to NextFab’s North 4th Street location or if you are just looking for something fun to do in the fall and winter months, check out the Open Studio Night series at North Fourth!
NextFab North Fourth is NextFab’s newest location, a 4,000 square foot makerspace located at the corner of 4th and Thompson Street in the South Kensington neighborhood in Philadelphia. While North Fourth provides a lot of the access to professional staff and equipment that the Washington Avenue location is known for (it has a beautiful wood shop, a metal shop and an electronics and computer lab) it also has its own unique flavor and houses a beautiful new jewelery studio. The Open Studio Nights are a great way to get a look at the new facility if you haven’t already, meet some great people and get a little hands-on action with our machines. You’ll walk away with a smile and a nifty new #nextfabmade seasonal object!
Attendees will also receive a promo code for a $100 discount on a new membership!
There are five projects in the series and we invite you to participate in all five, but each is a stand http://shopantibioticsonline.com alone project and you are welcome to join us for as many as you like.
The first project is a sweet 3D printed cookie cutter. This is a great introduction to 3D printing using the Bukito 3D printer. The cookie cutter project will be happening on November 18th, November 25th and December 2nd. Each session will encompass a complete project.
Next up, shake it up with a 3d printed animal integrated into a snow globe. The snow globe fun takes place December 9th, 16th and 23rd.
Number 3 on the list is a laser cut 2016 pop up New Years card! Project sessions will be held December 30th, January 6th and January 13th.
The 4th Open Studio Night project at North Forth is a 3D printed coin top. This project integrates a penny into a 3D printed design for a nifty spinning top. Come and make yours on January 20th, January 27th or February 3rd.
This brings us to the grand finale! One night only, February 10th, just in time for Valentines Day, make a honey dipper for your honey! This project uses the wood lathe to turn a beautiful and functional (and possibly symbolic) wooden honey dipper!
