What to Expect

You can take this class from anywhere because it’s virtual!

Normally, our classes take place in-person, based in our Philadelphia locations but this class is open to anyone in the world, allowing you to participate from wherever you are. All you need is a working computer, a set of speakers or headphones, and a webcam. Your instructor will send you a link to the class half an hour before it begins, ensuring a seamless connection.

A seasoned instructor will guide you through grasping the fundamentals of Rhino; no prior experience is necessary. We’ll start from the basics and gradually build your skills because our goal is to empower you to create intricate 3D models that come to life in your mind. Even if you’re familiar with Rhino (or other 3D design software), consider this a refresher!

Our course doesn’t stop at theory: we believe in learning by doing. You’ll dive into a quick tutorial project that will challenge your newfound knowledge and put your skills to the test. By the end of the course, you’ll have created a CAD file that’s ready to go, compatible with our state-of-the-art CNC machines, lasers, and 3D printers.

In our 3D Printing I class, you can use our consumer-grade 3D printers by picking and printing a design from NextFab’s curated project files. Once you learn how to use Rhinoceros, you’ll be able to print a product of your own design!

Just a quick note: before taking Rhinoceros I with us, you must first enroll in our Virtual New Member Orientation, which is free and self guided orientation. During the orientation, we’ll teach you how to safely use our facilities, connect with our community and access our resources. Completion of the orientation can take up to one hour and is best viewed from a laptop or desktop computer.
